Hello Glamourites!

I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend and enjoying the sunshine before we all get back into that real life routine! boo. A few days ago I decided to make some cookies, but since my sister has been recently diagnosed with many allergies, I altered the recipe so that she could eat them as well! They are dairy free, gluten free and sugar free cookies AND they taste delicious!

Make Easter Easy!

3 Apr

Hello Glamourites,

I hope everyone has been enjoying the first two weeks of spring and been getting some warmer weather to enjoy. I have found some great Easter inspiration for baking and decorating ideas that are very quick to do with little cost. I hope everyone has a wonderful long weekend! Happy Easter xx Glamour Planner

I love this bunny butt sugar cookie idea, it’s as easy as making different shaped ovals and adding icing!Easter

If you are hosting an Easter dinner or brunch you can get creative with your place cards and add them to cute mini easter baskets like these with some chocolate eggs.

Easter4

For a centrepiece take two sizes of vases and between the two add easter eggs, jellybeans, chocolate eggs or anything colourful  to add to the easter theme!

Easter5

Another easy dessert or snack to try is making rice krispie treats but in the form of a carrot then covering them with icing or a candy orange glaze. Thanks to Frugal Coupon Living for the idea!

Adding a simple tulip to your guests plate makes a world of a difference and makes them feel special!

Grad some old birthday confetti and shape it into a nest and put an egg in the middle, voila, instant table decor done!

I know it’s a Tuesday tomorrow but you can still have some fun by dressing in all green or bake green food to make the day special. Bring some special treats to work or have some friends over for some Shamrock punch and gold chocolate! Check out the pictures for details…

How cleaver is this dessert – you use a cookie for the base then add a marshmallow and dip it all in chocolate! Check out The Cake Blog for original directions.

An Apple a day…

4 Feb

Morning Glamourites!

Okay my title was slightly misleading…yes, I am giving you a recipe with apples in it but it may not be the healthiest of recipes. Guilty. Let’s be honest though, you need a delicious cinnamon bun recipe for the weekend to indulge in! I have been craving them lately and haven’t had any since Christmas break when my Mom made them for the family. I have always been a little nervous to make them by myself from scratch, but from watching my own Mom make them and reading some recipes, they really aren’t that bad. You just need time;  the waiting around to let the dough rise and then the cooking time can be a little annoying. This particular recipe caught my eye because it calls for apples, raisins and walnuts; not sure about the nuts but I love the idea of apple! Give it a try this coming weekend, with or without the nuts, or add your own new ingredient.

Hello Glamourites,

Hope you all have been enjoying your summer holiday and having lots of new adventures! I have continued to put more work into my little cookie stand on the trail and now have a proper set up. It definitely catches people eye more (I hope) and looks more professional with a rustic feel. Let me know what you think and if you have tried the cookies, any suggestions! xx Glamour Planner

Hit the trail

8 Jul

Hi Glamourites,

My gourmet cookie stand has continued to grow and I think people have started to hear about it through word of mouth. I’ve started to realize a bit what it might be to baker and have a store. I have also experimented on recipes beyond cookies to see what else people may be interested on the trail. I have named them the Lochside Trail bar as that is the section of the trail we are located on. They are made with oats, organic raisins, almonds, chia seeds, hemp hearts and honey and taste pretty delicious to me! If anyone has sampled them you can let me know your feedback or any other suggestions! Hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful summer weather. xx Glamour Planner

Cookie Update

1 Jun

Hello Glamourites! I thought I would give you an update on my little cookie stand I have set up on the trail beside my house. It has been out there every afternoon for over a week now and I think people are starting to notice it! I have been slowly making additions and trying to make it the best it can be. I’ve ordered custom cards that give my name, email and web site which gives it a little more of a professional look and I think people like to put a name to something. I would love to start doing individual orders for customers for parties; I plan to expand beyond cookies to include cupcakes and cakes! You never know where something may lead, go give it a try. Picture below of my new cards attached to the cookie packaging 🙂        xx Glamour Planner photo 3 photo 4 photo 1 (1) Let me know if you any comments or suggestions for me! Thank you for stopping by my blog!

Cookie Stand

24 May

Hello Glamourites,

Today I decided to do something with my spare time as I have yet to be hired for a summer job….I hate applying for jobs! Anyways, I put my baking skills to a use and put them out for sale outside my house. We live on a trail and have many people walking, biking and running by which allows for some possible customers! I documented with photographs prepping my little stand and making labels for my cookies. If you did come by and buy some of my cookies, thank you and I hope you come back again! I will be experimenting with new flavours and possibly treats other than cookies this coming week. xx Glamour Planner

The Vintage S’more

23 May

Hello Glamourites!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful and beautiful May, I love that spring is finally here! If you are starting to crave some of those roasted s’mores by the fire here is an easy recipe for you to make at home! Follow the recipe below and treat yourself this weekend 🙂 xx Glamour Planner

SmoreIngredients:

  • 6 gluten free graham cookies (roughly 1 Cup crushed/pulsed in food processor into crumbs). If you don’t have any, use 1 cup of gluten free quick oats, or 1 cup regular graham crumbs.
  • 2/3 Cup unsweetened shredded coconut
  • 1/3 Cup butter, melted
  • 1 Egg white
  • 1 Jar marshmallow fluff
  • 3 1/2 Cups chocolate chips
  • 1 Tbsp butter

Method:
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F

2. Grease the short ends of a a 9×13 baking pan with butter, then line the pan with parchment, leaving “handles” hanging over the long ends. Set aside

3.In a medium sized bowl combine the cookie crumbs (or oats), coconut, melted butter and egg white. Press into the prepared baking pan.

4. Bake for 19-21 minutes, until you have a nice golden colour.

5. As the bottom bakes, place the chocolate chips and 1 tbsp of butter into a sauce pan, or in a microwavable bowl, and warm (stirring every so often) until melted and smooth. Let cool slightly.

6. Just before the bottom is done baking, warm the mallow fluff, either by warming it in it’s jar in the microwave (with the lid and protective seal removed), or by emptying the fluff into a small sauce pan on the stove and warming.

7. When the bottom is finished baking, take it out of the oven, and place it onto a cooling rack. Plop down blobs of the marshmallow fluff over the base, then gently spread around to cover it.

8. Drizzle the melted (and slightly cooled) chocolate over the marshmallow fluff, and very gently spread around.

9. Leave this to set in the fridge for about 2 hours. Then, take it out of the fridge and allow to soften oh so slightly (the chocolate top can be tricky to cut without smoooshing the mallow fluff out. I keep thinking that if you score the top after it’s starting to set in the fridge {maybe after an hour?|, that it would really make cutting them easier). Using a hot knife, cut into squares and devour! Or share with others if you must….

Apologies

17 Dec

Hello Glamourites!

First, a big apology for my delay and absence in posting anything the last little while, I was completely taken over by school recently with final projects and exams. It is now Christmas holidays and I will finally have time to relax and spend more time on the blog! Here are a few topics I will be touching on this week to prep for Christmas and this festive season.     xx Glamour Planner

Baking! It’s not the holidays unless you have sugary, sweet, tasty treats to snack on. These Gingerbread doughnuts are ones I will be trying shortly. More recipe suggestions to come!
