Hello Glamourites!

Some days it’s nice to try something new, even if it’s a new lipstick, different type of hair product or whatever! Here is an extremely simple recipe for a little afternoon snack or dinner appy you can easily whip up. This can be made for two people or alter the amount and can be a perfect party tasters. Baked Parmesan Tomatoes

INGREDIENTS

2 Medium Tomatoes
1/3 Cup Freshly Grated Parmesan
Fresh Oregano
Pinch of Salt
Freshly ground Pepper
Olive Oil
DIRECTIONS
Preheat the oven to 450 F (230 C).

Cut the tomatoes lengthwise into approximately 1/3-inch (1 cm) slices. Place them on a baking sheet. Top with Parmesan, oregano, salt and pepper (season according to your taste). Drizzle with some olive oil and bake until tomatoes are tender and the cheese is melted, for about 10-15 minutes.

Hi Glamourites!

I hope everyone is having an enjoyable and easy Monday! Now that February is here I’m all aboard the Pink/Red/Valentine’s theme train. I have been keeping my eyes open for tasty and pretty looking drinks and food for upcoming Valentine’s Day parties or dinners. This is a drink recipe I saw that looks incredibly refreshing and cheery for any day this month. You don’t need to spend a lot of money on alcohol for this one so give it a try and let me know your thoughts  xx Glamour Planner

Ingredients
  • ¼ cup tequila
  • ¼ cup club soda
  • ¼ cup fresh grapefruit juice
  • 1 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Small plate with sugar
  • Grapefruit wedge
Instructions
  1. Sprinkle sugar on a small plate, cut grapefruit in half, rubbing outer edge of cocktail glass on grapefruit to wet, rub rim of glass in sugar.
  2. In your cocktail glass combine grapefruit juice, lime juice, and sugar, mixing until sugar dissolves.
  3. Add tequila, club soda, and ice.
  4. Garnish with a wedge of grapefruit and enjoy!

Louboutin Nutella Cups

Hi my glamourites!

You know when you just have one of those cravings, the one where you just can’t shake, no matter what else you eat or even if you have a little bit of it, you still want more. Well that has been me with Nutella this week! Almost every evening I have been reaching for that jar and finding anything I can to dip into it or spread it onto. I stumbled upon this recipe through foodgawker (my fave food site ever) from a blog called The Baking Robot which I thought was very cute site! This recipe looks almost too pretty and colourful to eat but also that it would be absolutely delicious! Be perfect for Valentine’s Day dessert, but that’s a while away. 1/2 cup Nutella
3/4 cup powdered sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
1-1/2 tbsp milk
red candy melts
pink candy melts
white candy melts

Directions 

1. Line a mini muffin tin with mini cupcake liners. Set aside.

2. In a medium-sized bowl, mix together Nutella and powdered sugar. Stir in vanilla extract. Add milk slowly until you get a consistency that you can work with your fingers and roll into balls. (At this point, you can add more powdered sugar or milk to get your desired consistency. I made a more wet mixture for a creamy filling but it was more difficult to work with.)

3. In three separate bowls, microwave all three candy melts individually in thirty-second intervals, stirring in between, until completely smooth. (I melted about five handfuls of each color.) Spoon the melted red candy first into the bottom of the cupcake liner, shaking the muffin tin as needed to distribute and spread the candy evenly. Repeat with the pink candy melts, spooning and spreading evenly on top of the red.

4. Take about 3/4 – 1 teaspoon of the Nutella filling and drop into the center of the cups. Cover with the melted white candy until flush with the tops of the liners. Decorate with sprinkles and refrigerate until completely chilled and hardened.

Neon Lettuce

Now that (unfortunately) summer is coming to the end, it’s time to start eating healthy again. It’s always too easy during the summer months to get off track with good eating habits as we’re busy enjoying those BBQs, margaritas, ice cream & parties. Here is a refreshing and unique salad recipe to work your way back to healthy eating; don’t forget to use fresh blackberries which are in season now. INGREDIENTS:

3 1/2 cups micro arugula

1 cup blackberries (ripe and sweet!)

2 tablespoons pine nuts

1 ear red corn, cut off the cob

1/2 bunch white asparagus

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

1 tablespoon red wine vinegar

1 clove of garlic, pressed

2 tablespoons chopped caper berries (stems removed)

1 1/2 tablespoons of mint, finely chopped

sea salt

black pepper

METHOD:

– Rinse and dry microgreens.  Set aside.

– In a small mixing bowl combine olive oil, red wine vinegar, mint, garlic, chopped caper berries and a pinch of salt.  Place in refrigerator until ready to serve.

– Trim ends off of asparagus (I trimmed a good 1 1/2- 2 inches off of mine to get to the softest part).  Lightly coat spears with olive oil and cook on medium heat over a grill pan or on your grill until seared to your preference. Sprinkle lightly with sea salt and pepper.  Cut into 1/2 inch pieces.

– Assemble the salad by combining microgreens, corn, asparagus, blackberries and pine nuts in a large bowl.  Add salad dressing (recipe makes enough for some leftovers, depending on preference).  Toss well and serve immediately!
