I got a little too excited yesterday when the temperature outside went above 0 degrees! I know that’s definitely not anywhere near to being a warm spring day, but it is a big improvement from negative 26 with wind chill. In getting excited about spring being around the corner, I started brainstorming ways to lighten up your home by adding a fresh feel. This can easily be done by putting a new coat of paint on the wall, reupholstering furniture, spray painting wooden chairs or even buying some new plants. Green is the perfect colour in many ways; it is known as the colour of balance and harmony and of course is the symbol of regrowth or spring. I hope it is warming up wherever you are and you get a chance to add some green to your house!

I hope you all had a fabulous week and enjoying every minute of adventures and experiences you’re having. Yes I know it has been awhile; it seems June got away on me! Things were crazy with it being my sister’s high school graduation which meant lots of parties and family from out of town. Now that things have died down and summer is well upon us, I hope to get back to making regular posts 🙂 For today, here are some pictures and ideas for summer/fashion/food and others that caught my eye. Hope you are all having an amazing start to your week! xx Glamour Planner
Wear your flower crown this summer
Try to new recipes: like these yogurt fruit bars for light summer snack
Pull on those denim shorts and simple lace top for a simple fun summer outfit
Make an area where you can relax and take time for yourself or catch a little cat nap!
Make sure you spent as much time as possible outside when the sun is shinning, it’s not summer forever!
Lastly, buy yourself a neon suit! You only live once, so you might as well shine brightly 🙂
I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend and found time for some relaxation today! Grab some inspiration from this post and throw together a little gathering for this evening. My main inspiration when planning a party comes from having a theme of some sort to bring everything together, from the decor to the type of food served. However when you are having some people over for a casual dinner party or drinks on a Thursday, it’s a lot of effort to go all out last minute, but it’s still nice to have little touches to make the evening special and create flow. One example that is easy is to pick one colour to coordinate everything with: napkins, flowers, table decor ect… Now of course I love anything sparkly or bright so naturally I love the colour gold; it adds some shine to the room and makes your guest feel like they are being spoiled. These pictures are examples of some straightforward tips that can be done last minute! xx Glamour Planner
Take some streamers from your cupboard or run to the dollar store, cut the sides of the streamers and twist them as they hang. The simplest way to transform a wall for a party time!
Serving up some champagne or sparkling wine? Dip the glasses in eatable gold glitter.
Creating signs for a buffet table or snack table adds an extra level of sophistication, it shows you took the time. Take the sign and pop it in a little frame for a professional look.
Take your old wooden candle holders or some cheapies and add some glitter, a quick DIY project!
The simplicity of this table I adore. Adding two tone table cloths also adds interest and something as simple of a hanging feature above the table completes the table setup.
I just enjoy this 🙂
Some of you have may already heard of an event called ‘Diner en blanc’ which originated 25 years ago in Paris. It is where people gather all dressed in white for a giant “chic picnic” where only the day before they have been advised of the secret location. Hundreds of people are invited and are expected to conduct themselves with the greatest decorum, elegance, and etiquette to enjoy this unique evening.
Dinner en Blanc ~ Paris
This event is held all over the world at different times and if you have a chance to attend, I would not turn it down! This all made me think of how fun it would be to hold your own “dinner en blanc” event or party (obviously not at that large scale). If you are wanting to throw a final summer party before August slips away, perhaps consider having an all white theme. Here are some more picture inspirations I found if this catches your eye. xx Glamour Planner
If you have a staircase like this or even a large lobby, tying balloons together into a tall tower gives a dramatic effect. Simple flowers or leaves that have been sprayed can be used for centrepieces at low cost.
Can’t forget about the heels! These would be ideal for an en blanc evening.
For a larger centrepiece you can use tall vases and flowers such as roses and individual flowers at place settings. Chair covers make a world of difference to your atmosphere and aren’t overly expensive to rent.
You may think it’s hard to keep your theme going through the food but there’s more than you think…meringues, coconut and white chocolate are just a few of many!
Good Evening Glamourites,
With the sun shinning today and the warmth of the sun it made me extremely excited about all the summer adventures to come! One of those being PICNICS! I am looking forward to packing yummy food and drinks, grabbing a blanket and going to the beach, garden or mountain for a delicious picnic with friends. Here are some beautiful picnic setup’s I thought would be adorable to plan for a dinner party inspiration or afternoon lemonade with friends.

This cute idea with the tent on the beach piles of pillows just looks like a relaxing and fun filled afternoon picnic!
This picnic atmosphere is picturesque for a rustic farm field at the picnic table with wild flowers, lace table cloth and plastic cups (a must for outdoors).
This is my favourite picnic layout with the all bright colours along with flowers and big pillows for seating!
Finally, what is a picnic without a yummy (and easy) dessert! Take a look at these Strawberry Hand Pies which are easy to eat and also cutlery free. Continue here to Country Living for the recipe: http://www.countryliving.com/recipefinder/strawberry-hand-pies-recipe-clv0712

With all this amazing weather we have been getting it seems only right to be bringing the sunshine inside as well. Making your own arrangement like these vases can be as complicated or as simple as you make it. They can be used on your everyday kitchen table, for a big dinner event and even parties to add some colour! Hope you enjoy my inspiration!

This example is super simple, pick up a bag of lemons at your grocery store and throw them into a vase of water and place your bouquet of sunflowers with it, so bright & happy!
Sunflowers + Lemons
I love the look of the limes cut-up and seeing the inside, the pattern adds neat sense of detailing.
As shown in the picture, this type of vase is much more party friendly because of the shape. It is tall and skinny which means it is easy to see around and does not block people vision. I would still have this on my kitchen table, so funky!
