New Year, New Glam

20 Jan

Hello Glamourites!

Happy New Year to everyone and I hope you all had a safe and relaxing holiday! Now that I am back in the big city and school I have time to get in the routine of updating posts on a regular basis {or let’s hope that will be the case}. I have put together pictures and inspiration of styles and tips I would like to focus on more this year. Let me know what your resolutions are for 2014!      xx Glamour Planner

No matter what you do be confident in yourself! Glitter sparkles brightly for everyone to see, show people your sparkle.newyearsparkle

This year I want to wear those “little black” dresses I have always said I will find an occasion for. newyearblackdress

Appreciate nature more, take walks on the trails or picnic on a hillside. newyearnature

Make time to right letters. Receiving a handwritten letter could be one of the most beautiful and thoughtful pieces of art and it now seems to be fading from this generation. newyearletters

Take time to enjoy your afternoon tea or coffee and add some silence in your day. newyeartea

Wonderful Touches

Hello Glamourites,

I always keep a small folder of wedding inspiration ideas and styles that I would love to put into my own future event planning career and transform into my own creation. These are some gorgeous shots and tips to be done at an upcoming wedding! What is one of your favourite wedding touches? xx Glamour Planner

This shot {and dress} are to die for! I want one of these pictures where you get an overall view of the dress.  wonderfultouches4For a vintage touch add some lace ribbon to the table setting, or other types of ribbon depending on theme.

Hi Glamourites,

My apologies for being VERY rude and not posting for a few days, I have been away on a mini vacation and was clearly too busy relaxing and having fun to post anything…. Since I was just traveling I thought it would appropriate to post my top THREE traveling tips! Let me know as well if you have any tricks or quirks when you travel, I’d love to hear.

#ONE – Smart Carry-On

I find it extremely annoying after you check on your luggage then you still have about three different bags to carry around and onto the plane with you. I go with a basic backpack where you can stuff a surprising amount of things into and it easy to carry. The other trick I have with carry-on’s is pack your pair of heels or extra shoes that didn’t quite fit into your large luggage bag. You know, so you can be stylin’ when you get off the plane!

#TWO – Don’t Drink

Now I’m not even talking alcohol…. before you board your flight, even the 2 hours prior to boarding do not drink any liquids. I don’t know about you but I hate  plane washrooms. First you have to awkwardly climb over like 2 people to get out of your seat then you have find the washroom in one of hidden closet like doors then once your in there you feel claustrophobic to the point you wish you never came. My solution is don’t drink before but once on the plane bring your 7Up or order your glass of wine and drink all! (This means you can enjoy the window seat and not be disturbed)

#THREE – Front

Sit as close to the front of the plane as possible. This allows for you to get off that plane as fast you can when you are landed. There is nothing worse than after you landed and you are still stuck in the back in your seat waiting for everyone else to get off and enjoy that fresh air.

Classic like the 1920’s

28 May

Hello Glamorites!

Lately I have been seeing a lot of vintage influence in fashion, parties and even movies. When I saw the new Great Gatsby movie in theatres this week I was loving the vintage and classical feel in every aspect from the clothing to how they spoke. I loved the attention to detail that the movie captured; it captured the essence of the Roaring 20’s and I loved how they took and pride in what they wore, how they looked, and their attitude  about how they were presented. Enough about the past for now….I found this gorgeous picture and adored the entire look, so I created a how-to!

Hope you enjoy it & maybe even try a little vintage style today too!

Everyone seems to be catching on to this trend, why? Because it looks great and takes less than a minute to do! It is super handy if you are rushed for time, didn’t have time to shower but want to still look nice and put together. As well though it is a fabulous look for when you are getting all dolled up and wanted to show off some jewels or dress. Here is a great how-to for the sock bun by Beautylish! JEWELS – Dangling Chandelier

These type of earrings are very eye catching, they have a unique shape plus the sparkle to add some glitter and shine! Two similar examples to the earrings from the picture I found from Lia Sophia, a jewelry company selling pieces through home parties! Check out more of there earrings HERE: http://sites.liasophia.ca/sites/corporate/productcatalog?page=productlisting.category&categoryId=5005&showCrumbs=true&pageNum=1

MASCARA – Long & Lushes Lashes

Here are 3 simple tricks I have learned to properly apply mascara and for better results!

Step 1: Wiggle the mascara wand a little from side to side at the base of the lashes, it is the mascara placed at the roots of the lashes that give the illusion of length.

Step 2: Pull the wand up and then through the lashes while continuing to wiggle as you go, the wiggle is key as it helps separate the lashes.

Step 3: The final little trick is to close your eye and put the mascara on the top of the lashes and pull through as to remove any clumps.
