Has Spring Sprung Yet?

11 Mar

Hello Glamourites,

Clearly I have been MIA the past month…probably wallowing in my winter depression! In my opinion, it stayed WAY over its welcome; it’s March already mr. weather. On that note, I have obviously been looking  into spring trends and outfit inspirations to keep me calm. Check out the pictures below for the Spring 2014 trend insights taken from the Paris runway during Fashion Week. Hope everyone is having a great week xx Glamour Planner

The wide-leg pant is back! They are easy to wear and ultra-chic; billowy wide-leg trousers are making a come back on  the spring runways and streets.Springwideleg

All heights can wear these pants, not just the 6 foot models. If you are shorter look for slimmer on the flare and appropriate high waisted length. Springwideleg2

Contrast collar button downs are the new essential. Inspired by men’s dress shirt bringing in contrasting colours, textures or patterns, it’s a simple way to spice up your work outfit.  Springbuttondown

How adorable are the Tea-length skirts, somewhere between the length of maxi and midi (just below the knee). This length works perfect for any spring afternoon!

The ladylike hemline can be as modern as the midi depending what you pair it with, could be a cropped top which will accentuate your height!

The last inspiration for today is the introduction of the tuxedo trouser with a mix of the athletic pant making this sporty and comfy but still looking smart and sophisticated. Also try a streamlined silhouette in a unexpected white or reverse tuxedo.

Fresh + Clean

26 Jan

Hello Glamourites!

I hope everyone is having an enjoyable weekend and taking some down time to relax and recharge. My weekend has been fairly quiet but also with a little fun of course. It has been freezing here which doesn’t make it very enjoyable to leave the apartment. With it being January we are always reminded about new beginnings and starting fresh…I have taken that same outlook and applied it to design and possible room interiors. If we have a clean environment, it will rub off on us and encourage us to be the same way. Hope you get some inspiration from these pictures xx Glamour Planner

The contrast between bold and simple in this living space is ideal, the straight lines from the chair frames, circle table and window rectangles. Then the juxtaposition using the black and white to make a dramatic but while still clean atmosphere.

Fresh&Clean

This bedroom makes me feel I am taken back a few centuries. The detailing in the moulding and the bed posts are beautifully rich and gives this a pristine vintage look. Fresh&Clean3

For a smaller{ish} living room space this is made very grand, thanks mainly to the high ceiling which also allows too for the dramatic  chandelier. In this case, where the room is smaller and gets an abundant amount of natural light, having only black & white is perfect. Fresh&Clean2

On a smaller scale, an office desk can feel much more organized and clean if it has a neutral colour pallet. Also consistency for supplies and accessories helps with the visual aesthetic of the space.     Fresh&Clean4

The bathroom is a very important room as it is the first place you go after waking up. You want that room to make you feel fresh and therefore come across that way in the design. Here the simple lines and warm tones from the wood create a welcoming and awakening area.

Back to nature

13 Sep

Hi Glamourites,

It seems when fall comes around I am drawn again to natural tones, materials and fabrics for in my designs, my apartment and tastes. With the changing of the season colours start to appear in the trees and the warmth of orange and reds brighting up the streets. The autumn time allows for nature to be featured more than usual with such activities; pumpkin carving, apple picking, fire crackling and leafs for decor. So why not use natural wood all year long in your home to be a main focus in the design or function. These pictures highlight the beauty of wood in its natural element while fitting into different home styles and creating contrast. Hope everyone is transiting into fall better than I am xx Glamour Planner

This simple linear wood table is an ideal space for all uses and is set off ideally by the brick wall in the background. 79a95a8d076bf8b506f6da6a55570c25

I love how the wood bar top has been left natural at the ends and the shape curves as it instinctively would.  78b22eebba3e9ece4f391a2fbd711dbe

These puzzle piece like mats are very unique as you can create them as small or large you need for the function while creating a table interest. f8f03d1b8682740d836e0992cd8d2b8c

This space is a perfect example of how it is possible to mix the natural wood with soft fabrics and works well. 562907c718646adf31ec6d5a256555ce

I enjoy this whole bathroom vanity for the rustic feel and the bold wood mirror frames makes the statement in the space. 460ec9e0ede08b0575d59a9abd6eb611
