08/31 CHEERS to August

31 Aug

Hello Glamourites,

I hope everyone has been having a fun-filled and relaxing summer! I know I sure have {hence being very MIA, sorry again} I figured it being the last day of August, sad I know, we should celebrate the month rather than being depressed it is leaving us. Here are some fun recipes and ideas to try before it’s too late!

Raspberry Limoncelle Pro

Sip of this delicious {and easy} drink with friends and family talking about your favourite August memories. The Raspberry Limoncello Prosecco is bubbly and fresh. Thanks Damn Delicious for the inspiration!

peaches

Buy some peaches! The end of August is a perfect time to buy them as it is peek season for this fruit and you can use them in so many ways. Peach smoothies, peach pies, peach salad, peach glaze on pork, peach crumble or my fave peach jam. Credit to Buttered Side Up for the pic and click for her Peach Jam Recipe!

DEFINITELY have a BBQ. I know in a month from now we are all going to missing those nights when you throw a burger and corn on the cob on the barbie. Try these BBQ shrimp wrapped in prosciutto by the Sassy Kitchen!

Lastly, breathe. Enjoy these final moments of summer and soak it all in before that cold fall wind blows in. Be thankful for another summer of laughter and adventures. Happy August 31st!

I owe you

Balmy and Beautiful

28 Dec

Hello Glamourites,

I know for me I always want to be stylishly dressed whenever I leave the house but that can be difficult during the winter months when the temperature drops. I’ve compiled some outfit ideas that you can take inspiration from to keep warm and still look fashionable! It’s been a fairly warm Christmas where I have been but I have a feeling after New Years we’ll be in for some cold days ahead…I’m definitely not looking forward to that. Personally I wish it was summer all year, guess I gotta move to Hawaii if I ever hope to get that. Hope you all are having a fun and relaxing holiday xx Glamour Planner

A sweater such as this, made of wool or polyester is the best type of fabric to go with for winter as it keeps the moisture out and the warm air in. You may assume cotton is another smart choice to go with, think again, it is an extremely absorbent material and will soak up all the moisture around you. Pick a unique colour as it will stand out and add some personality to an otherwise typical grandma sweater. balmy_sweater

LAYERS. One of the most efficient ways to dress I find. With my temperature issues, too cold when outside and overheating once inside it is easy to shed a layer or two depending on how hot/cold it is. Plus you can mix and match all sorts of colours and patterns making for an exciting outfit!

Purchasing a signature winter coat can be all you need to spice up an outfit if you are out walking the streets running errands. A colour like this plum burgundy is a beautiful shade for the dull days of winter.

A fur vest of any type is an excellent addition to an outfit as it creates an instant elegance that is effortless and keeps your core body warm and cozy through the day!

My ABSOLUTE favourite winter accessory/secret is scarfs. I have a huge plaid scarf with about 5 different colours that goes with anything and everything I’m wearing and when I open it up it’s as large as a blanket. Having that around my neck it just about doesn’t matter what else I have on I will be sure to be toasty warm!

Hello Glamourites,

Hope you all have been enjoying your summer holiday and having lots of new adventures! I have continued to put more work into my little cookie stand on the trail and now have a proper set up. It definitely catches people eye more (I hope) and looks more professional with a rustic feel. Let me know what you think and if you have tried the cookies, any suggestions! xx Glamour Planner

Hit the trail

8 Jul

Hi Glamourites,

My gourmet cookie stand has continued to grow and I think people have started to hear about it through word of mouth. I’ve started to realize a bit what it might be to baker and have a store. I have also experimented on recipes beyond cookies to see what else people may be interested on the trail. I have named them the Lochside Trail bar as that is the section of the trail we are located on. They are made with oats, organic raisins, almonds, chia seeds, hemp hearts and honey and taste pretty delicious to me! If anyone has sampled them you can let me know your feedback or any other suggestions! Hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful summer weather. xx Glamour Planner

Summer Inspo

30 Jun

Hello Glamourites!

Yes I know it has been awhile; it seems June got away on me! Things were crazy with it being my sister’s high school graduation which meant lots of parties and family from out of town. Now that things have died down and summer is well upon us, I hope to get back to making regular posts 🙂 For today, here are some pictures and ideas for summer/fashion/food and others that caught my eye. Hope you are all having an amazing start to your week! xx Glamour Planner

Cookie Update

1 Jun

Hello Glamourites! I thought I would give you an update on my little cookie stand I have set up on the trail beside my house. It has been out there every afternoon for over a week now and I think people are starting to notice it! I have been slowly making additions and trying to make it the best it can be. I’ve ordered custom cards that give my name, email and web site which gives it a little more of a professional look and I think people like to put a name to something. I would love to start doing individual orders for customers for parties; I plan to expand beyond cookies to include cupcakes and cakes! You never know where something may lead, go give it a try. Picture below of my new cards attached to the cookie packaging 🙂        xx Glamour Planner photo 3 photo 4 photo 1 (1) Let me know if you any comments or suggestions for me! Skipping to Summer Style

29 May

Hi Glamourites,

I don’t know about you but I am more than ready for every day to be filled with hot sun, sand between my toes, and  a cold drink in my hand. Bring on summer! We have had a day or two of sunshine but I’m ready for Spring to pass along the torch to Summer! In saying that, I was hoping to do a wardrobe update and add some summer dresses. On a hot summer day or evening it’s so easy to slip on a dress and always looks very put together and cute! Here are some of my favourites – check them out xx Glamour Planner

The perfect beach dress to throw in your bag to use after a day at the beach!

During summer it’s fun to add bright colours to your closet – somehow it makes you feel energized.

You can never go wrong with a little white dress anywhere and anytime in summer! The back scoop and lace adds a beautiful effect.

Cookie Stand

24 May

Hello Glamourites,

Today I decided to do something with my spare time as I have yet to be hired for a summer job….I hate applying for jobs! Anyways, I put my baking skills to a use and put them out for sale outside my house. We live on a trail and have many people walking, biking and running by which allows for some possible customers! I documented with photographs prepping my little stand and making labels for my cookies. If you did come by and buy some of my cookies, thank you and I hope you come back again! I will be experimenting with new flavours and possibly treats other than cookies this coming week. xx Glamour Planner
