Make Easter Easy!

3 Apr

Hello Glamourites,

I hope everyone has been enjoying the first two weeks of spring and been getting some warmer weather to enjoy. I have found some great Easter inspiration for baking and decorating ideas that are very quick to do with little cost. I hope everyone has a wonderful long weekend! Happy Easter xx Glamour Planner

I love this bunny butt sugar cookie idea, it’s as easy as making different shaped ovals and adding icing!Easter

If you are hosting an Easter dinner or brunch you can get creative with your place cards and add them to cute mini easter baskets like these with some chocolate eggs.

For a centrepiece take two sizes of vases and between the two add easter eggs, jellybeans, chocolate eggs or anything colourful  to add to the easter theme!

Another easy dessert or snack to try is making rice krispie treats but in the form of a carrot then covering them with icing or a candy orange glaze. Thanks to Frugal Coupon Living for the idea!

Adding a simple tulip to your guests plate makes a world of a difference and makes them feel special!

Grad some old birthday confetti and shape it into a nest and put an egg in the middle, voila, instant table decor done!

Confetti

4 May

Hello Glamourites,

Sorry for being very MIA the last month but it was the final countdown of school before summer vacation which meant there was lots of work and presentations to be done. Luckily I am all finished now and I have much more free time for hobbies, friends and having fun! I thought it would be appropriate to then write this post on party inspiration and decorations. Confetti is fun, colourful and easy to use in many ways for any type of party. Some people associate it with children’s parties but I have found some ideas of how you can use it in new creative ways! xx Glamour Planner

Taking strips of tissue paper or anything that is colourful and tying to a rope you can hang this for party decor around the room. It is easy to customize making the colour match your particular theme.  confettistring

Glue confetti or glitter to the exterior of balloons to make for a touch of sparkle. confettiballoon2

Using clear balloons and filling the inside with whatever you have around the house, buttons, paper scraps, glitter, sequins, ect makes for an exciting illusion. confettiballoon

Another use for confetti is to decorate your glasses or dishes to surprise your guests! confettiwine

V Day Countdown

31 Jan

Hello Glamourites,

I can’t believe it’s the last day of January today! It feels like just last week we were celebrating the Christmas holidays and only yesterday that school started. Before you know it Valentine’s Day will be here! Which means now is the time to start planning and sending out invitations for your V-day Party. Valentine’s Day is one of my favourite “holidays” – besides showing your family, friends and loved ones how much you care about them, you have an excuse to eat chocolate all day! Anytime I am able to have a themed dinner or party I jump on it. Make it fun and add some special décor; people get that much more excited when they see the effort you’ve put into creating a special ambiance. Hope you get some inspiration for your Valentines plans xx Glamour Planner

When setting your table it doesn’t have to be anything difficult; it can be as simple as putting some streamers down as shown below. vdaypartytable2Glitter up your beverage station with putting some sparkles on your champagne bottles.

Easy decorations to add some festive love around you house, cut out hearts from paper or fabric and attach to red string and hang around! vdaypartydecor

If dinner isn’t your thing than a simpler option is hosting a brunch. Breakfast items are much easier to prepare or simply buy them from the store. These adorable little yogurt parfaits are very easy and look festive! vdaypartyparfaits

Wonderful Touches

23 Oct

Hello Glamourites,

I always keep a small folder of wedding inspiration ideas and styles that I would love to put into my own future event planning career and transform into my own creation. These are some gorgeous shots and tips to be done at an upcoming wedding! What is one of your favourite wedding touches? xx Glamour Planner

This shot {and dress} are to die for! I want one of these pictures where you get an overall view of the dress.  wonderfultouches4For a vintage touch add some lace ribbon to the table setting, or other types of ribbon depending on theme.

You know you love it

18 Oct

Hello Glamourites!

I hope {to all my Canadian’s} you had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend and managed to get through the week while still being stuffed with turkey! I know I still am. Thinking about the upcoming dark days of fall and winter upon us, I am even more drawn to this colour but I must say it is regardless one of my favourite colours. PINK. I know even if you aren’t a girly-girly it is still a fun colour to look at and brightens your day with a pop. Regardless of my future home’s theme I plan to have at least one room with some pink burst. I think it can add such an energy to a room and lift your spirits no matter the type of day you are having. Here are some fun spaces I think that the colour pink really works!             xx Glamour Planner

Normally that much of one colour in a hallway and doorways I would find too much but because you come from all white surroundings it creates a sense of light and excitement. pinkhallway

I would totally have this kitchen. It’s bright, energetic and creative. Everything you want for a kitchen space. pinkkitchen

For a more gentle pink in a dining room or living area this pale rose works well over the chandelier adding warmth.  pinkchandiller

Pink in a bathroom is a very good choice as it’s the first place you go once you wake up and you want something to give you a boost for the day. pinkbathroom

For a office space or a communal working space trying to be more industrial can still be a fun colour! pinkfurniture

Pumpkin Season

9 Oct

Hello Galmourites,

Now almost being the middle of October we know that pumpkin time is just around the corner….aka HALLOWEEN. Okay so I have to admit I’m actually not a huge Halloween fan but I LOVE Christmas and I know that once Halloween has past we are very close to the winter holidays! None-the-less I still enjoy the festivities such as pumpkin carving. Every year I want to try a new innovative design but always go back to the classic knife cutting technique. Here are some examples of pumpkin designs you can try out this year using different materials. xx Glamour Planner

This is a great use for all those spare buttons your collect over the year. Glue them to the pumpkin to make a word or design.  pumpkinbuttons

Painting your pumpkin is fun as you can create your own theme with what colours you use or patterns. pumpkinblackandwhite

This is one idea I do want to try this year, take any type of patterned lace or pantyhose and wrap the pumpkin. pumpkinlace

For last minute pumpkin decorating take metallic decals or stickers and place on the pumpkin.

If you are displaying several pumpkins, place mini lights or candles inside to line your walkway or porch for a pretty effect.

A touch of GOLD

15 Sep

Hello Glamourites,

I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend and found time for some relaxation today! Grab some inspiration from this post and throw together a little gathering for this evening. My main inspiration when planning a party comes from having a theme of some sort to bring everything together, from the decor to the type of food served. However when you are having some people over for a casual dinner party or drinks on a Thursday, it’s a lot of effort to go all out last minute, but it’s still nice to have little touches to make the evening special and create flow. One example that is easy is to pick one colour to coordinate everything with: napkins, flowers, table decor ect… Now of course I love anything sparkly or bright so naturally I love the colour gold; it adds some shine to the room and makes your guest feel like they are being spoiled. These pictures are examples of some straightforward tips that can be done last minute! xx Glamour Planner

Take some streamers from your cupboard or run to the dollar store, cut the sides of the streamers and twist them as they hang. The simplest way to transform a wall for a party time! c6ae2d5f55abf7ea8cdafd06d161ceb8

Serving up some champagne or sparkling wine? Dip the glasses in eatable gold glitter. 8306396e524ca10e2e2505be0f178a93

Creating signs for a buffet table or snack table adds an extra level of sophistication, it shows you took the time. Take the sign and pop it in a little frame for a professional look. b0fa1b6f8fef0d97faad40b641ca1c89

Take your old wooden candle holders or some cheapies and add some glitter, a quick DIY project! efd752d694065c78001b35a8eed3efc5

The simplicity of this table I adore. Adding two tone table cloths also adds interest and something as simple of a hanging feature above the table completes the table setup. 11edad85e33a25420af3b964f8ccc554

I just enjoy this 🙂 f82af8a0f9ea5de195e72a4904b0c015

Focus In

2 Sep

Hello Glamourites!

Well the time has officially come….school starts again tomorrow! Which is why I have been very bad with any new posts the last little while, as I have been getting organized and packed. I’m still very unsure whether to be excited or dreading going back, I am excited for new school supplies, is that sad? Anyways back on topic, as my current theme is to be focused in on school and my studies I thought these design inspiration pics were well done as they focused in on a specific object or place of the room. Very helpful if you are waiting to showcase a art piece or part of architecture.

Hope the start to your September hasn’t been too difficult xx Glamour Planner

This wall feature is completely eye-catching and it adds texture to the space with minimal other materials. ddc91315a13e407954e5325bea09f60b

Wanting to highlight the bed but without a headboard or fancy bed frame this indented wall art does the trick. e2d9238154619a241fd5ffb0f0f5e370Using the grand chandelier creates that focus to the centre of the room drawing it away from the wall detailing.

ALL blanc

23 Aug

Hello Glamourites,

Some of you have may already heard of an event called ‘Diner en blanc’ which originated 25 years ago in Paris. It is where people gather all dressed in white for a giant “chic picnic” where only the day before they have been advised of the secret location. Hundreds of people are invited and are expected to conduct themselves with the greatest decorum, elegance, and etiquette to enjoy this unique evening.

Dinner en Blanc ~ Paris

Dinner en Blanc ~ Paris

This event is held all over the world at different times and if you have a chance to attend, I would not turn it down! This all made me think of how fun it would be to hold your own “dinner en blanc” event or party (obviously not at that large scale). If you are wanting to throw a final summer party before August slips away, perhaps consider having an all white theme. Here are some more picture inspirations I found if this catches your eye. xx Glamour Planner

If you have a staircase like this or even a large lobby, tying balloons together into a tall tower gives a dramatic effect.  whiteballoonsSimple flowers or leaves that have been sprayed can be used for centrepieces at low cost.
whitetableCan’t forget about the heels! These would be ideal for an en blanc evening.
whiteheelsFor a larger centrepiece you can use tall vases and flowers such as roses and individual flowers at place settings. Chair covers make a world of difference to your atmosphere and aren’t overly expensive to rent.
whitetable2You may think it’s hard to keep your theme going through the food but there’s more than you think…meringues, coconut and white chocolate are just a few of many!

The Triple Threat

31 Jul

Hi all Glamourites!

I figured after all this time I should finally post some of my own pictures from an event I recently held.  I must also give my Mom a lot of the credit (food & decor purchasing) for this particular party but we work well together throwing fun gatherings for friends and family! For this evening we went with the “Triple Treat” theme being WINE, CHEESE & CHOCOLATE. How can you go wrong with that? Here are some pictures of our food table and decorations. Hope you enjoy and are inspired to do some entertaining of your own  xx Glamour Planner

IMG_1523I have seen this done in magazine’s and on Pinterest of course…using wine bottles as individual vases for flowers. I wanted to spray paint them but ran out of time and in the end, I like the natural uniqueness of each bottle. It also suited our “Wine,Cheese & Chocolate” theme.

DSC_0654The entrance: one of THE most important parts of an event. This is where your guests get the first impression of what they have to expect and also what will stick most in their mind. We found some adorable chocolate/dessert paintings, more books on chocolate and fun accent gift baskets to line the staircase as our guests entered the house.
